Robertson Clan and its history

The Clan Robertson, also known as Clan Donnachaidh, is a Scottish clan with a diverse history that goes back to the early medieval period. A distinctive pattern reflects the clan's identity and heritage. The most popular tartan of this clan is  the Robertson Hunting Modern tartan shown below.

Robertson's motto is: "VIRTUTIS GLORIA MERCES", meaning "Glory is the Reward of Valour".

The clan's name originates from the Gaelic "Clann Dhònnchaidh," which means "Children of Duncan." The clan descents from Duncan, who's been a son of the legendary 11th-century Scottish king, Duncan I.

The Robertson clan's traditional teretorries are in the central Highlands of Scotland, where they played a significant role in the region's history. 

Throughout the centuries, the Clan Robertson faced faced conflicts with neighboring clans such as the Jacobite uprisings.  

Today, Clan Robertson maintains a strong sense of identity and connection to its past with many members participating in clan gatherings and events. The clan's legacy endures through its rich cultural heritage, symbols, and traditions that continue to be celebrated around the world.
