2009 sees a series of spectacular events taking place accross Scotland to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Scotland's national poet Robert Burns, as well as Scotland's contribution to golf, whisky, its great minds and innovations, and in celebration of its ancestry and heritage. Celebrations kicked off on the 25 January, the anniversary of Robert Burn's birth, and will run until St Andrew's Day on 30 November.
