Kilt Pins

The kilt pin is a decorative but functional accessory, placed on the bottom corner near the fringed, open side of the front apron of the kilt (wearer's right for mens, wearer's left for ladies) to add a little weight to prevent the front from flapping open. Typically, the rule for the placement of the kilt pin is that it must be two pattern squares over and up from the edge of the kilt fabric. NOTE: the kilt pin should never be pinned through both aprons, as this would distort the hang of the kilt and increase the likiness of tearing
