About Kilts
A big reason for adding a kilt into your wardrobe may be that you've been invited to a Scottish wedding, a gala dinner, or another formal Scottish event. Most male guests nowadays in Scotland dress in their national tradition, and always a traditional kilt from a quality kiltmaker is expected. Of course a kilt is not only for Scots, you wouldn't expect denim jeans can only be worn by cowboys.
Must I be a Scot to wear a kilt? In fact todays kilt is a kind of worldwide attire, and there are tartans not only for every Irish county and common Welsh, but also for US States, parts of Holland and for those Highland Games in Japan.
Measuring Guide
Standard sizes can be found in our kilts department, which are pre-made, but those best ones are always tailored to individual need. Three measurements are required at least, the waist, hips, and length of the kilt, and in some cases, the rise or the fall will also be asked for. Whereas, you could always ask for further information by clicking here to get assistance from our support team, and also please refer to our measuring guide, which explains how the measurements should be taken for the kilt to fit properly.
Kilt Accessories
Loads of kilt accessories are available for matching purpose, whether it be for daytime wear or evening wear. Basically you can even put on t-shirt or trainers with your kilt, however, most accessories will be needed for more formal social event. How to make you fit in is really lays in how well these pieces fit in a same degree of formality. There is always a traditional view of brown should be worn during the day while sporrans, shoes and silver ornamentation during the night. A piece of advice is to follow the simple rule - formal with formal, casual with casual.
The kilt is also usually worn with a Prince Charlie or an Argyll jacket for Scotsmen, and for Irishmen, Brian Boru or the Kilkenny jacket are always chosen with the kilt.
